ANOTHER QUICK PICK $100,000 WINNER IN CONNECTICUT; MORE THAN HALF A BILLION STILL UP FOR GRABS

August 18, 2025

WALLINGFORD, Conn. — August 15, 2025 — He thought the clerk was playing a practical joke.

That’s how a Fairfield man described the moment he found out he had won $100,000 playing Powerball. The man matched four white balls and the Powerball during the August 11th drawing.

The win was worth $50,000, but because the winner purchased
the Power Play option, the 2X multiplier turned that win into a $100,000
payday. Power Play is an add-on feature that can increase non-jackpot prizes
depending on the multiplier drawn during a Powerball drawing.

The winner bought the ticket at the North Main Convenience store on North Main St. in Norwalk. “I thought the clerk was playing a joke on me when he checked the ticket,” he said.

The winner says he usually selects the quick pick option
instead of choosing his own numbers. The computer chose the winner this time as
well.

This win comes after another recent $100,000 Powerball
winner from Waterbury who used the quick pick option to choose his winning
numbers.

The man is also eyeing the estimated $565 million dollar jackpot up for grabs Saturday night, which is the biggest Powerball jackpot this year. It’s also only the second time this year that the jackpot has topped half a billion dollars.

Congratulations to the winner and his family…and good luck this weekend!
