CT Lottery Recognizes the Passing and Contributions of Former Chairman, Paul Silvergleid of Glastonbury
The Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC) recognizes the recent passing and contributions made by Paul Silvergleid of Glastonbury. Silvergleid, who was appointed Chairman of the Commission of Special Revenue in 1971 by then-Governor Thomas J. Meskill, was instrumental in creating the state’s lottery in 1972.
“Next year, the CT Lottery will celebrate its 50th anniversary,” said Greg Smith, President of the Connecticut Lottery Corporation. “It is only fitting that we acknowledge the efforts of Paul Silvergleid who was a dedicated professional that helped build the Lottery’s foundation. Since then, over $10.6 billion has been generated to support the valuable services and programs funded by the state’s General Fund.”
