POWERBALL® Debuts New Monday Drawing on August 23 Powerball® will now be drawn three nights, weekly
Mondays are about to get better for POWERBALL® players! Beginning Monday, Aug. 23, Powerball will be drawn three nights a week. A new Monday drawing will join the weekly lineup of Powerball drawings currently held on Wednesday and Saturday, adding an additional chance for players to hit the Powerball jackpot.
Players can watch the Monday Powerball drawings live online at Powerball.com with a new live stream feature that launched earlier this summer, or on the CT Lottery’s website at www.ctlottery.org.
Powerball is a multi-state game with a minimum jackpot of $20
million. Jackpot increases for each drawing are determined based on sales. A
player must select five numbers from 1 to 69 for the white balls; then select
one number from 1 to 26 for the red Powerball. The Powerball jackpot grows
until it is won.
Drawings
take place at 10:59 p.m. on drawing nights, and wagering is closed at 10:00pm
and reopened at 11:15pm. Powerball
tickets are $2 per play. The addition of the third drawing does not change the
overall odds of Powerball. The overall odds of winning a Powerball prize are 1
in 24.9. Odds of winning the jackpot are
1 in 292,201,338 million.
